Meet Dominika Buczma
Founder & Head Trainer – Dog’s Perspective
I founded Dog’s Perspective to help owners better understand their dogs and build relationships based on clarity, trust and effective communication.
I hold a Degree in Forest Economy and a Diploma in Advanced Canine Behaviour, and I have spent years working hands-on with dogs of different breeds, temperaments and backgrounds. I have helped hundreds of dogs and their owners with issues ranging from everyday training and obedience to more complex behavioural problems including reactivity, aggression, anxiety, separation anxiety and resource guarding.
My training experience also includes mentorship under Frank Holmes, a highly respected former Royal Army Veterinary Corps detection dog trainer. Through this work, I gained experience across several detection disciplines, including conservation and biosecurity, pyrotechnics, narcotics and explosives. It strengthened an approach to training that I still use today: thoughtful, precise and adapted to the individual dog.
Dog sport is another important part of my life. I train and compete in IGP, a demanding discipline combining tracking, obedience and protection work, and I serve as a committee member of the British Rottweiler Sport Dog Club, helping to support responsible working-dog training and the development of the sport in the UK.
Animal welfare has always been equally important to me. I spent many years volunteering in shelters in Poland, helping rehabilitate and rehome dogs, and previously held a Field Inspector badge for the Polish equivalent of the RSPCA. My background also includes extensive work with misunderstood and neglected horses.
For me, good dog training is not about applying the same method to every dog. It is about understanding why a behaviour is happening, creating a clear plan and teaching both dog and owner the skills needed to make lasting progress.
